Michelle Davidson is the Chief Academic Officer for Sumner County Schools in Tennessee. Sumner County Schools has 46 campuses and 27,500 students. Davidson has served as an associate superintendent, magnet/choice school director, secondary curriculum director, principal, college lecturer, coach, and teacher. In Guilford County, Davidson directed 44 magnet schools with 17 separate themes. Davidson worked as the Social Studies Director for both the Tennessee Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency. Davidson holds a Doctorate of Education from the University of Texas at Austin from the Cooperative Superintendent Program. Dr. Nolan Estes, former Dallas ISD superintendent served as her dissertation chair. Davidson was one of the University of Texas Recruitment Fellows and a University of Texas Presidential Scholar. She also completed a Master’s of Education from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University, and a Masters of Arts in History from the University of Arkansas.
